Property Listing & Transactions

A real estate platform focused on enhancing transparency in the resale market. The project involved using existing aesthetics while introducing new features across Project Listing, Project Details, and Property Search & Visit Inquiries pages for a seamless user experience.

These pages were instrumental in providing users with verified, clear, and accessible property information to help them make informed decisions.

The Problem

The main challenge with the platform faced was the lack of trust and clarity in the online real estate market. Users struggled with cluttered information, poor navigation, and a general lack of transparency in property details, often leading to confusion and frustration. The key problems included:

  • Inconsistent property data.

  • Difficulty scheduling property visits and inquiries.

  • Inefficient browsing experience on the platform due to unclear listing layouts.

Research & Insights

  • Secondary Research: Reviewed competitor platforms like Housing.com and 99acres to identify strengths and weaknesses in their interfaces. The research highlighted that users highly value visual clarity and immediate access to verified data.

  • Client Conversations: Engaged with the client to gather business goals and understand their vision of creating a hassle-free real estate platform.

  • User Feedback: Existing user feedback from the client indicated a desire for simplicity in navigation and transparency in property listings.

Approach

1. Project Listing Page:

  • Created a clean grid layout to showcase properties, focusing on essential information like location, price, and status (e.g., verified, under negotiation).

  • Integrated filter options to help users refine searches by price, location, and other parameters.

  • Added RERA verified badges to listings to enhance trust.

2. Project Details Page:

  • Designed an intuitive property details view, breaking information into digestible sections like key features, images, location map, and Recent Transactions.

  • Incorporated interactive elements, such as Floor map, BHK analysis & Amenities

  • Ensured mobile responsiveness to offer a seamless experience across devices.

3. Property Visit & Inquiry Page:

  • Visited & Inquired properties cards are designed in such a way that directly caters to all the immediate requirements that a user can have like - Contacting your assigned Relationship Manager, Inspection report, Title Report and the option to check transactions

Conclusion

The project resulted in a well-structured and user-friendly platform that improved the user experience for Zapkey’s customers.

By focusing on transparency, ease of navigation, and efficient inquiry handling, the new pages contributed to increased user engagement and satisfaction. The design successfully addressed the challenges, aligning with the business’s goal of becoming a trusted platform for resale properties in around Maharashtra

Learning

  • Balancing Aesthetics and Functionality: It’s crucial to maintain the platform's visual identity while integrating new features. Ensuring a cohesive design while enhancing user interactions taught the importance of consistency in UI/UX.

  • Enhancing Trust through Design: By adding elements like verification badges and transparent property data, the project demonstrated how thoughtful design can build user trust in digital platforms, especially in high-stakes sectors like real estate.

  • Mobile-First Approach: Ensuring that the platform was responsive and user-friendly across devices highlighted the growing importance of mobile design in real estate applications.

  • User-Centric Iteration: Gathering feedback from users and aligning with client goals reinforced the iterative nature of design, where ongoing improvements are key to addressing evolving user needs.
